Interesting Architectural Treasures in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Brian Marshall is an architectural design/heritage restoration consultant, published author, and frequent columnist for the Lake Report newspaper. Brian has a passion for heritage buildings, for their restoration and proper maintenance.  NOTL is blessed with a treasure trove of heritage properties, many with very interesting histories, and Brian is going to share some of these with us.  
 
Please join us at Spirit in Niagara Distillery at 468 Lakeshore Road in NOTL at 6 pm on Tuesday June 14, 2022.  Please pre-register for this in-person dinner meeting by midnight tonight.
 
As this will be our last dinner meeting at Spirit in Niagara Distillery and as Brian Marshall has graciously agreed to reschedule his talk from our original May 10, 2022 booking date, please make every effort to come out for a most fun and informative evening.
 
Cost of the dinner is $20.00 per person. (Contact is Steve Hinchliffe). Please use the link below to pre-book your attendance at this event so we can advise Spirit in Niagara for dinner preparation:

Finger Food Party at Fran and John Boot’s home at 6 pm June 28, 2022
 
Bring your significant other, your favorite finger food to share, your beverage of choice and your dancing shoes to this fun party night. Everyone is welcome. See you at 6PM at 2252 Four Mile Creek Road on Tuesday June 28, 2022. A special thanks to Fran and John Boot for Hosting this fun event.

* The Icewine Cocktail Party Committee  is looking for Committee members to help with the logistics, sponsorship, ticket sales, and general planning for the September 17 event. Please contact Chris Hatch for more information.
 
Holiday House Tour 2022
The dates have been set and the gears are turning. Thanks again to Lorna Penman, the 2022 Holiday House Tour Committee has a full line up of lovely homes for this year. Brenda and Blair McArthur are opening up their doors for an evening program again and look forward to welcoming many guests through their estate. 
 
On December 2 and 3, the first weekend in December, we will need almost 200 volunteers. We hope that YOU can help us make it our Club's biggest fundraising event. Grab your phone and highlight the dates. This year the SignUpGenius App will help make volunteering in your preferred timeslot even easier. Stay tuned for more details.
 
 
* Special Thanks
We’d like to mention a very special thank you to Lorna Penman for successfully running the Holiday House Tour (HHT) for the past number of years.  Under Lorna’s exceptional leadership, the HHT has become an annual event eagerly anticipated by the community, along with it being the Club’s largest annual fund-raiser.  Following in Lorna’s footsteps, Fran Boot has stepped forward to run the HHT this year.  Thank you, Fran for your commitment!  The HHT is a fun event that volunteers enjoy supporting.
 
* July 1- Canada Day - Please contact Gary Hatton for further information. Many volunteers are still needed and time is getting short. Please take a couple of hours out of your day to help out on this special celebration. 
 
* July 30- Canada Games Torch relay - 24 volunteers are required to assist at the torch relay stations on route in NOTL.  Start at 8 am and Finish at 11 am. Duties will include the following:
  • Processing the Torchbearer check-ins/registrations at the opening pep rally.
  • Supervising the torch handoffs at each location. This would include taking in the first torchbearer and sending off the next. 
  • Supervising the individuals who have purchased the Rotary T-Shirt at each handoff location and sending them off at the correct time.
  • Helping to set up and tear down the opening pep rally and closing celebration.
If you would like to Volunteer to help with the Torchbearer duties outlined above and get a free Rotary Volunteer T-Shirt and assist in a great event in our Community, please contact Greg Fedoryn President-Elect directly at gregfedoryn@rogers.com.
 
There will be a full onboarding session for all volunteers in the month of June.

Our first Club meeting at the Community Centre will be July 12, 2022. Cost of lunch will be $20. See you there.

Please note that e-transfers can now be accepted to the Club account. If you are making an on-line payment to either the registered charity or the club account, please let the Treasurer know. The e-transfer accounts are:
